With the graying of America, there is tremendous interest in how to enable seniors to safely age in place. Determination, Inc. approached Champion through The Senior Source in Dallas to establish the senior village concept in Dallas.
The village concept allows seniors to opt-in on a membership basis to a place-based support network that offers services including transportation, social events, health support and housing modification to avoid falls. Champion is partnering with Determination, Inc. to launch Preston Hollow Villages, the first of a series.
While we may ultimately use a PFS model for this project, at this time we are working with a Aging-in-Place HOA framework. Homeowner-seniors within a specific geographic neighborhood may elect to become members of the village on an annual basis with the village providing services to them. This enables the seniors to age in place safely within their current homes and postpone moving to assisted living.
